Retired, I got serious about photography about five years ago, after becoming totally frustrated with my inability to create decent prints from travel images.
Multiple books read/reread, countless YouTube tutorials, a “gallon” of ink and pigment, reams of paper, two printers, Affinity Photo, Topaz, and NIK software, I think I’m starting to get it.
Been selling prints from my booth at a couple Silicon Valley farmers markets for just over two years to “support my habit.” Seems to be working; modest sales are steadily increasing and I’m building a clientele.
Just returned from a photoshoot to California’s Redwood Empire along with a few destinations in Oregon and Washington. My aching back is still paying a price from my lugging a Gfx over trails and along streams. Worth it though; image quality is amazing.
